The Celebratory Slaughter Plate

We went up to Serlbach for the yearly fest (Kirchweih) this evening. It was the first day and a special treat is the slaughter soup. This was the Irishman's dinner tonight. Don't miss the snout on the left!!

Needless to say, I opted for the Bratwursts (sausages). I'm happy as long as I can't identify the bits and pieces I'm eating.

  1. Men will eat anything.

  2. How about a side of saure Nierle (as they say in Baden-W) to go with that snout?

  3. Okay, time to post something new so I don't have to look at pig nose every time I pull up your blog!!

  4. Mmmmmmm, snout. Blech.

The pig nose totally reminds me of a story my mom told me about going to Spain with her college roommate and staying with a nice family. The nice family served them actual lamb's ears, and the roommate kept shoving them onto my mom's plate when they weren't looking. My mom ended up with a double helping of ears because she didn't want to be rude. :)

    I'd stick with Bratwurst, too.
