Mum's getting the fire started. Note the new tradition of building fires in drum from an old washing machine. It's a great way to recycle, it keeps the fire contained and the holes let air in to feed the flames (AND you can fit a grate from an old barbeque across the top). Mom woke me up nice and early because everyone runs down to the Yarmouth Light at 6am and watches  the boats go out. Me and my log cabin quilt pieces (and the Irishman) were invited to a Memorial Day Weekend Barbeque and to meet Marc (seen below at my house). The burgers were superb and company even better. I proved that my quilt squares do exist and she donated all her sock-yarn leftovers to my little project. My big sis Helen likes her birthday socks!!  I love that she emphasized the deep sea colourway with her dress :)And please ignore that I forgot to sew in the ends of one of the socks.....normally, I sew in the ends as soon as I finishing kitchenering the toe. But this time I forgot and never even dreamed of checking.
